Don invasive clearance continues
May 22, 2014 5:21 pmThe picture above shows clearly just how infested the Don bank becomes during the summer with knot weed, balsam and giant hog weed making it impossible to access the new pegs. In order to control and iradicate these invasive species K&DAA called in a specialist team from the Riverside Stewardship Company who began a programme of spraying, stem injection of herbicide and plant removal just prior to the river season starting. The photo below shows stem injection in progress.
