It’s big perch time
March 12, 2015 7:19 pmThere is no better time to catch a big perch than during the next month or so. Water temperatures are rising and most fish, including big perch are begining to feed, in the case of perch in order to build themselves up prior to spawning.
Mark Watson demonstrated the potential at Ravenfield and Mark’s 2lbs 4ozs fish certainly wont be the largest. But just this week some big fish, like the one above, have also been caught at Baker’s. Not known as a big perch venue it’s likely that these big fish have resulted from the very small ones that were stocked a few years ago. In fact Baker’s is an ideal big perch venue with small numbers of predators and huge numbers of small prey fish.
